Scorsese Teams Up With Sir Mick Jagger

NEW YORK (February 28, 2007) ? Fresh off his win for Best Director at the Oscars, Martin Scorsese is teaming up with rock ‘n’ roll legend Mick Jagger for a new film.

Based on an original idea by the limber Rolling Stones singer, ?The Long Play,? brings to life a story set across three decades in the music business, a release confirmed. Scorsese will direct the film and produce it alongside Jagger and Victoria Pearman for Paramount.

Though Jagger is known for his lyrics, the screenplay will be penned by Bill Monahan, an Academy Award winning writer for ?The Departed.?

This isn?t the first collaboration between the screen giant and the rock n? roll star. Scorsese created a feature length concert documentary on the Stones. Filmed at New York City?s legendary Beacon Theatre, that film will be released, this fall.
