Scott Foley: Scandal Is First Show I’ve Been On ‘In A Long Time’ Where I’m A Fan

Scott Foley is loving his experience playing Jake Ballard on “Scandal,” and his appreciation for the show goes beyond gratitude for a steady gig – he’s a diehard Gladiator himself!

“I so believe in this show. It’s the first show that I’ve been on in a long time where I am a fan,” Scott told Access Hollywood at the 2014 Miss Golden Globe Announcement in Los Angeles on Thursday evening. “Like, I can’t wait to find out what happens not just to my character, but to all the other characters. And I live-Tweet with the fans and I love the reaction, and not just the reaction of the fans, but of the press!”

After nearly two decades in the business, Scott said he’s incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to bring such well-written, well-received material to life on the small screen.

“People care about [the characters] and that’s exactly what you want to happen when you do something as an actor. You want it to be relevant and to be talked about,” he said. “So I am so blessed and so grateful… I just love it!”

Hopefully Scott’s Navy captain-turned-B613 operative won’t find himself in the lethal crosshairs of Command anytime soon – though the 41-year-old star said he wouldn’t be surprised if Jake bites the dust.

“It’s become a running [joke] in my family that [I] go on ‘True Blood,’ [I] get killed. [I] go on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ [I] get killed. [I] go on ‘Scandal’… not yet!” Scott laughed, referencing his past characters’ untimely ends. “I’m very fortunate.”
