Scotty McCreery Calls Filming First Video ‘Insane’; Says Justin Bieber Shouldn’t Worry Scotty’s Becoming A Heartthrob

Scotty McCreery recently filmed the video for his debut single, “I Love You This Big,” and Access Hollywood was exclusively on set.

“This is pretty insane,” Scotty said of recording the promotional clip for the song that helped him win “American Idol” back in May. “All the hard work has been put into this and now I’m sitting here doing my first music video. It’s just a really cool thing to finally be here.”

The teen explained that his video would feature seasonal flavors.

“This is going to be kind of a nice little chill, summertime barbecue, kind of like a community thing on the Fourth of July,” Scotty said of the video’s theme. “It’s just a really fun thing that we’re all just kind of chilling — that’s the word for this music video – ‘chilling.’”

Since he won “American Idol,” life has certainly changed for the high school student.

“It’s tough for me to go to McDonald’s anymore… and not have to take a picture or sign an autograph or something or signing someone’s receipt,” he laughed. “It’s truly cool for me. It’s nice to be able to go out there and see the fans that supported me my whole way through ‘Idol.’”

While the girls are screaming, Scotty said he isn’t quite ready to accept the heartthrob tag.

“I still think Justin Bieber tops me, you know? He’s got that title, so I’m going to lay low for a while,” the teen laughed.
