See Hugh Jackman Revive ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: ‘Bring It On!’

Hugh Jackman is the first celebrity to jump back on the Ice Bucket Challenge bandwagon.

The Aussie multi-talent kicked off another round of the wildly popular fundraising effort on Saturday, and posted a video of his efforts to social media.

“Bring It On!” he shouts in the clip, before pouring an avalanche of ice water over his head and offering a devilish grin.

Hugh admitted in his post that he might be “late” to the party, but he’s actually one of the earliest guests to arrive.

Ice Bucket Challenge co-founders Pete Frates and Pat Quinn resurrected the movement on July 31 with the help of the Boston Red Sox. In an on-camera announcement at Fenway Park, Pete thanked those who participated in the viral sensation in 2014 but stressed that this year’s campaign is just as important.

“We would not ask you to dump cold water over your head again just for the fun of it,” he said.

The Ice Bucket Challenge took the Internet by storm upon its initial launch. According to the ALS Association, more than 17 million people participated and helped raise $115 million for ALS awareness and research services.

Hugh first got drenched with his “Pan” cast back in August 2014, but this time around he went solo and even dressed up for the occasion. His crisp white dress shirt and black bow tie from Saturday’s vid conjures another possible challenge in Hugh’s future.

The actor told Australian news program “The Project” on Sept. 2 that he “would seriously consider” playing James Bond, and revealed that he was even approached about the part years ago but had to decline due to “X-Men” obligations.

“I was like, ‘Ah, I don’t think it’s the right time.’ But it was not an easy one to give up,” Hugh said.
