Seinfeld Returning To TV

Eleven years after leaving “Seinfeld,” Jerry’s coming back to TV.

The comedian will be executive producing an NBC reality show he has created titled “The Marriage Ref,” Access Hollywood has confirmed. The show will feature celebrities, comedians and athletes helping settle couples’ disputes.

And though it may sound more like “Dr. Phil” than “Seinfeld,” Jerry insisted it’s all for laughs.

“This is not a therapy show, it’s a comedy show,” Jerry said in a statement to Access. “After nine years of marriage, I have discovered that the comedic potential of this subject is quite rich.”

He’ll be partnering with Ellen Rakieten, a longtime producer on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” for the series.

The famous funnyman has been all but absent from Hollywood since bringing his titular series to an end in 1998, even as it continued to top ratings. His most recent project was 2007’s animated “Bee Movie.”
