Selena Gomez Gets Emotional Onstage Talking About Christina Grimmie

Selena Gomez got emotional about the tragic death of her friend, Christina Grimmie, during a Miami concert on Saturday evening.

Former ”Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie died at the age of 22 on Saturday after being fatally shot while she signed autographs for fans after her concert in Orlando.

Selena, whose stepfather Brian Teefey managed Christina, gave a tearful tribute to her friend onstage.

“One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. I think it’s not about a religion and it’s not about good deeds,” Selena said on stage, a moment captured by fans on Instagram. ”I think she just had faith and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this song to her.”

Selena then began to sing ”Transfiguration”
in honor of Christina.

Earlier on Saturday, Selena shared a heartfelt message and photo of her with Christina on Twitter, which shows the two of them smiling.

“My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you
Christina,” Selena wrote
