Selena Gomez is stepping into her power and taking control.
The 23-year-old singer posed topless for her new album cover – a decision she’s proud of.
“It’s not something where I’m like, let me glorify what I do in the bedroom. But I think I have a very healthy perspective on my sexuality,” she told Refinery29 of her “Revival” cover. “It’s part of being an adult, and I’m still figuring out how to be one of those, too.”
The “Good For You” singer has moved on from her split from Justin Bieber, and from the sound of it, she plans to remain happily single for a while as she focuses on herself and her career.
“Do not try to date me right now,” she told the website.
As for what went wrong with Justin, Selena said their initial breakup wasn’t easy, but it also wasn’t as dramatic as it’s been portrayed by the media.
“Of course I got my heart broken. Of course I was pissed about it,” she said.
At this point though, she has “no anger” toward Justin.
“There’s closure in a very good, healthy way. We’ve seen each other. I’m always encouraging and I am proud of his journey,” she said. “I think people are making it out to be something that is more tragic than it really was.”
Adding, “We grew up together. We both made mistakes. That’s it.”
“Revival,” Selena’s fifth studio album, is available now.
