Seth MacFarlane Talks Oscars: ‘Probably’ The Only Time I’ll Host

Seth MacFarlane doesn’t think he’ll be on the Oscar stage in 2014 – at least as the host.

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson spoke with the funnyman about his job as host of the Academy Awards this Sunday, something he’s referring to as a “one-off.”

“This will probably be the only time I’m asked to do this,” Seth, who is also nominated in the Best Song category for “Ted,” explained.

“You think you’re going to do something that will make them say nevermore?” Shaun asked.

“No, I just, I think this is, it feels like a one-off,” the “Family Guy” creator said.

Seth told Shaun that his hosting style will land somewhere in the middle between Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globe hosting style and Billy Crystal’s classic sense of humor, along with showcasing his own song and dance talents. The night’s jokes will also include a few jabs about Ben Affleck’s headline-making snub in the directing category.

“I’m still thrilled to be doing it,” he added. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Find out who will take home Oscar gold – and how Seth does as the host – on February 24 live on ABC at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT.
