Seth Meyers reunited with one of his most beloved peers on Wednesday night ââ¬â Amy Poehler! Yes, really.
The host brought his former “SNL” co-star to the “Late Night” desk for a brand-new edition of the pair’s “Really!?!” sketch from their “Weekend Update” days.
Inspired by Sports Illustrated writer Andy Benoit’s recent Tweets that disparaged women’s sports as “not worth watching,” Seth and Amy launched an extended riff on why Benoit’s claims were so off-base.

“I think a lot of people would love to watch you say that to Serena Williams. Really,” Amy said, adding, “I guess I’m not surprised you work for Sports Illustrated. You guys put out a swimsuit issue every year dedicated entire to women who aren’t in sports. Unless you think it’s a sport to cover both boobs with one arm. Really?”
Seth chimed in next, taking a shot at the mundane events many sports fans prioritize over the comparatively suspenseful and exciting Women’s World Cup games.

“You can’t give it up for a group of women who are representing the U.S. against the world, and yet I bet you’re the same guy who sits inside on a nice day and watches the NFL draft. The NFL draft!” Seth groaned. “A full day to find out if your favorite college player is gonna have to go mansion shopping in Jacksonville or Tampa Bay. I mean, really.”
Amy agreed, wondering why the Women’s World Cup is often relegated to obscure cable outlets instead of being televised on broadcast channels like most major sporting events.
“Come on, networks. You’ll play six hours of pre-Kentucky Derby footage but you can’t broadcast women’s soccer? You think people would rather watch someone talk about hats than watch some badass American bitches take down Colombia?” she asked, to a roar of cheers from the “Late Night” audience.
“No more Tweeting, Benoit. You’re too dumb,” Amy said of the writer, who has deleted his offending Tweets and offered an apology via the social network on Tuesday afternoon.

Seth offered some friendly advice for Benoit some viewers might find a little harsh, but others would likely support — especially parents.
“If you want to attack somebody for playing soccer, how about children?” he suggested. “Now that is boring to watch.”
