‘Sex And The City’ Cast Officially Sign On For Sequel

In sequel news that “Sex and The City” fans have been clamoring for, the entire cast – along with writer-director Michael Patrick King – have reportedly officially signed on for another movie.

A rep for New Line confirmed to the Associated Press that Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and King have signed contracts for a sequel to the wildly popular adaptation of the HBO series. Earlier in the day, E! Online’s Marc Malkin was first to report the sequel news.

“I’m very excited to work with these amazing actresses again and would love to give everyone more information about the sequel … but I’m busy with my ‘Sex’ life,” King said in a statement released to the AP.

The creative teams behind “Sex” have been on board for another movie for some time, but contracts had not been signed until Wednesday.

King has reportedly not started writing the script for the sequel that is due to start production this summer.

The “Sex and The City” sequel is slated for a summer 2010 release.
