‘Sex And The City’ Sequel To Hit The Big Screen In May 2010

“Sex and The City” is returning to the big screen in just over a year.

Access Hollywood has confirmed the sequel to the blockbuster film will hit movie theaters on May 28, 2010.

Earlier this year, star and executive producer, Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed the movie is on and she told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush she wants the sequel to be a lot of fun.

“I think we want this one to be a romp,” Sarah Jessica told Billy.” “The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp.”

The movie is currently in the script stage with SJP’s fellow executive producer, Michael Patrick King penning the storyline.

While plenty of rumors have surfaced about the second big screen installment of the franchise, over the weekend, Chris Noth, who plays Mr. Big, husband to SJP’s Carrie Bradshaw, said it’s unlikely the on-screen couple have a child in their future.

“See, that’s another lie,” he laughed, after revealing to Access he has made up several “SATC” rumors over the last couple of years. “I’ve got my own baby. I don’t know about Mr. Big. I think that came from someone [who] asked, ‘Could he handle it?’ Of course he could handle it — with a lot of help, which he can afford, depending on whether he had his money with [Bernie] Madoff. Hopefully Mr. Big didn’t.”

And while she hasn’t been extended an offer yet, Jennifer Hudson, who joined the popular series as Carrie’s one-time assistant, Louise from St. Louis, said she would love to come back on board.

“I would love [to play Louise again],” she said. “I told Michael Patrick King, I said that Louise has moved back to New York from St. Louis, so… I’ll be ready if that opportunity comes.”
