Shailene Woodley: ‘The Future Of Food Is Insects’

Shailene Woodley is quite the adventurous eater!

In a behind the scenes video shot during her Nylon magazine cover shoot, the actress – who is currently starring in “The Divergent Series: Insurgent” – answered 16 questions, including the strangest thing she’s ever eaten.

“I’ve eaten ants and that was great. And junebugs. That was great,” she said. “I think the future of food is insects, so we’ll see what happens. But I had pigs feet in Spain a few months ago and that was awesome. “

She previously revealed to Access Hollywood‘s Liz Hernandez that she eats and brushes her teeth with clay.

“Clay’s amazing. So if you look it up, indigenous cultures around the world all eat it and have for many, many thousands of years,” she said at the Hollywood premiere of “Divergent” in March 2014. “Your body doesn’t absorb clay. It binds to radioactive isotopes as well as heavy metals and it helps your body eliminate it, so it’s one of the only ways to get radiation out of our bodies.

At the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, the actress further explained how she incorporates clay into her daily health routine.

“I make my own toothpaste and I put clay in it and then you swallow it instead of spit it out and you get your daily dose in the morning,” she said.
