Shake It Up Stars Zendaya Coleman & Bella Thorne Talk Prom

Prom is on the way and Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up” stars Zendaya Coleman and Bella Thorne are sharing their thoughts on the big dance.

Bella, 15, is already dreaming of her perfect dress.

“I think that since it’s prom, you should definitely wear a long dress. You can wear a short one anytime,” she told Seventeen magazine’s Seventeen Prom issue, which features her on one of its two covers (Zendaya is on the other one). “This is the moment when you get to be a princess, and for me, that means a sweetheart neckline, long, then pouf — out and big.”

Asked if she would ever ask a guy to the prom, Zendaya, who is currently single (she’s 16), said she’d prefer to be asked.

“It’s every girl’s dream to be asked to prom in some cute, romantic way,” she told Seventeen’s Prom Issue. “You know how you have the way it’s supposed to be in your brain? It’s a vision. I want my fairy-tale moment!”

But, if she did get asked, it sounds like she would only be able to go as friends. She told Seventeen dating isn’t yet allowed in her household.

“I just turned 16, and I’m now allowed to date,” she said. “But I’m not trying to rush into anything. I’m letting things happen the way they naturally would. It would be nice [to have a boyfriend], but I’m not like, Ooh, I need a boyfriend.”

Bella is in a relationship, and she wears a ring that says “Love Waits” and another with her fellow’s name on it.

“It’s not a traditional promise ring. It’s basically to always stay truthful,” she said. “I think that’s a really important part of a relationship, that you’re always honest with each other. The [other] ring has a heart, and ‘Tristan and Bella’ is inscribed. It’s a promise to stay pure to ourselves.”

Seventeen Prom is on newsstands on December 25.
