Shania Twain has opened up about her surprise engagement to Frederic Thiebaud.
“I’m in love!” the Canadian country superstar blogged. “Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship. Fred and I are happy to announce, our ENGAGEMENT!”
The relationship between Shania and Frederic reportedly began after their respective spouses – producer Robert “Mutt” Lange” and Marie-Ann Thiebaud, a longtime secretary of Mutt’s, became involved. Both Mutt and Marie-Ann denied that their own relationship was the reason the two couples split.
In her new blog, Shania revealed that a host of people kept her upright when she was going through her separation and divorce in 2008.
“In the last two and a half years of adjusting to life after separation and divorce, I needed to lean on others more often than I was accustomed to. These people have been gifts, and I am fortunate to have so many of these beautiful people – friends, family and beloved fans, who’s support I cherish more deeply with each day that passes,” Shania continued. “Now another year is about to pass, and I would like to thank everyone who helped me believe that new beginnings are possible and that love can be trusted.”
Shania hinted that she has some upcoming news about her career due out soon, especially now that she is feeling so positive.
“I’m feeling refreshed and optimistic about the future,” she added. “I’m looking forward to what the new year has in store and to sharing it with you… I wish you love.”
