Sharon Osbourne To Replace Brandy On ‘America’s Got Talent’?

LOS ANGELES (April 9, 2007) — Sharon Osbourne has reportedly been tapped to replace Brandy as a judge on the new season of “America’s Got Talent.”

The chatty rocker wife would join a revamped panel for the upcoming season of the NBC reality series. The network previously announced Jerry Springer will take over for Regis Philbin, who is still recovering from heart surgery.

No word yet on whether David Hasselhoff will return as a judge.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, NBC declined to comment on the Osbourne report.

However, it wouldn’t too far of a reach for Osbourne to step in to the judge’s seat considering she served as a judge on the British TV show “The X Factor,” alongside Simon Cowell, who is the creator of “America’s Got Talent.”

There has been speculation that Brandy has been on the outs with the show because of her involvement in a civil suit stemming from a December 2006 auto accident that killed a woman in Los Angeles.

The new season of “America’s Got Talent” debuts this summer on NBC.
