Shaunie O’Neal Talks Cheating Spouses, ‘Basketball Wives’

Shaunie O’Neal and her gang of “Basketball Wives” return for the second season of their hit VH1 show on Sunday night, and the women will be dishing about everything – including infidelity.

So how do the women handle indiscretions by their men?

“It’s reality, you just have to kinda suck it up and deal with it,” Shaunie, who filed for divorce in 2009 from Shaquille O’Neal (now a member of the Boston Celtics), told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Friday.

When asked if the “Basketball Wives” enter their relationships, knowing their superstar mates may be likely to cheat, Shaunie said most of the women she knows don’t think like that.

“No, I don’t think you do. I think that some women have this false sense of, you know, they choose you and they’re gonna choose you and their family over all that stuff and that’s what you try to keep your mind on,” she said.

Shaunie added that not all basketball-star-loving women end up broken hearted over a cheating superstar spouse.

“Hey, there are some happily married couples in the basketball world,” she told Billy and Kit.

While any show about housewives is full of inter-fighting among the core gang, Shaunie revealed on Season 2, she is taking a calm approach.

“I’m really kind of drama free. That’s just me. I mean get upset, I’m human, I have an opinion and I get pissed of like everybody else, but for the most part, I’m pretty drama free,” she said.

There is, however, plenty of headline raising moments on “Basketball Wives’” second season.

“It’s plenty of drama and it’s all really internal this season,” she added.

Season 2 of “Basketball Wives” premeires on VH1 on Sunday night at 8 PM.
