‘Sherlock: The Abominable Bride’ Premiere Date Released

Attention, “Sherlock” fans! New Year’s Day 2016 is going to be special.

The Masterpiece and PBS series’ upcoming 90-minute special is titled “Sherlock: The Abominable Bride,” and will air on January 1, 2016, the network revealed on Saturday, along with a trailer.

 “The stage is set, the curtain rises – we are ready to begin,” says Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock in the 90-second clip, which also features Martin Freeman (as Dr. Watson).

The special will air in both the U.S. and the UK on the same day, a first in “Sherlock” history.

“Sherlock” Season 4 will begin production in the spring. A premiere date has yet to be announced.
