Sherri Shepherd Grades New ‘The View’ Hosts; Admits She Yells At TV During Hot Topics

“The View” underwent some major changes this season, and ex-panelist Sherri Shepherd said it appears her former show is still trying to find its new way.

“They’re working some things out,” Sherri told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live on Monday morning, during an interview in New York City.

When asked what grade she would give the new cast of “The View” – Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie Perez, Whoopi Goldberg and Nicolle Wallace – Sherri replied, “I would give them a B. Because you have to be able to go somewhere [from there].”

Despite her emotional departure from the show, Sherri admitted she still regularly tunes in.

“I’ve been watching ‘The View’ every day. I love Hot Topics. I love Rosie Perez,” Sherri revealed to Billy and Kit. “I think everybody has got to figure out what they’re doing and they’ve got to jive.

“It took me three years to get it together!” she added.

While she’s taken a new career path for the time being – Sherri is currently starring as the Wicked Stepmother on “Cinderella” on Broadway – she admitted she can’t resist being involved in her own show… sort of.

“You were live Tweeting during the second episode,” Billy noted of Sherri’s social posts about the new season of “The View.”

“I know,” she said, before having some fun at her own expense. “I’m looking at the Hot Topics and I’m throwing out jokes [at home] and I’m like, ‘Nobody hears me!’ But that’s how much I love it. And that’s the thing – it gets so heated and you feel like you want to be a part of it,” she explained.

“But I did it for seven years and it was wonderful. Now it’s on to bigger and better things,” Sherri said.
