Shia LaBeouf Talks ‘Transformers’ Newbie Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: I Treated Her ‘The Way Harrison Ford Treated Me’

As a newcomer to the world of acting, Victoria’s Secret beauty Rosie Huntington-Whiteley had to learn on the job quickly and pull her weight on the “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” set in order to keep up with her co-star, franchise veteran Shia LaBeouf, and now, Shia has revealed he put the pouty-lipped model through her paces!

“I treated her sort of the way Harrison [Ford] treated me,” Shia told Access Hollywood guest correspondent Tim Vincent during a press tour for the film in Moscow on Friday, referencing his 2008 team- up with the legendary Ford for the fifth installment of the “Indiana Jones” franchise. “Like, you’ve gotta earn your keep. I can’t carry you this whole way.”

Shia said Rosie — who has admitted to suffering major foot pain as she spent seven months “running in heels” while shooting the action movie – came through like a champ, seamlessly stepping off of the catwalk and into her first major motion picture.

“You can figure out the fabric of the person the first time they get hurt,” Shia told Tim with a smile. “That’s when you know if someone’s going to make it through a ‘Transformers’ movie — the way that they respond to the pain the first time it happens! Physical pain. You get hurt.

“Nothing serious [happened] this time actually,” he added. “This is the safest we’ve [been].”

Although the 25-year-old actor said he managed to stay injury-free this time around and loves “everybody involved” with the “Transformers” films, he remained absolutely adamant in his resolution to leave BumbleBee and Optimus Prime behind.

“[Director] Michael [Bay] is like a brother to me — I would do anything for Michael… but I feel like, creatively, we’ve always planned on making three movies,” he insisted to Tim when pressed on his decision make “Dark of the Moon” his last “Transformers” film.

“Creatively, it’d be like a suicide mission,” he continued. “It’s taken us six years to get here.”

“Transformers: Dark of the Moon” opens in theaters on Wednesday.
