Shia LaBeouf Thinks Transformers 4 Will Be ‘Really Cool’

Shia LaBeouf won’t be hanging with Optimus Prime anymore, but the actor thinks Mark Wahlberg, newcomer Jack Reynor and director Michael Bay will make a great fourth installment in the shape-shifting robot franchise

“There’s a lot of fun to be had there in terms of the action and what not,” the actor told Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new movie, “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman,” at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday.

Adding, “I’m sure they’re going to make a really cool movie.”

Earlier this month, Bay also slammed reports that “Transformers 4” was a reboot, and said the events will take place after 2011’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”

”‘Transformers 4’ is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net,” he wrote. “This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This ‘Transformers’ will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.”
