Showtime Sets Premiere Dates For Nurse Jackie, Californication & New Drama Penny Dreadful

“Nurse Jackie” will return in April.

Showtime revealed Jackie Peyton, played by Edie Falco, will be back battling her demons on the network, beginning April 13 at 9 PM ET/PT.

The series follows the life a recovering addict and nurse who, at the end of the last season, slipped and popped a pill before the big ceremony to celebrate her sobriety.

The seventh and final season of David Duchovny’s “Californication” will debut on the same night at 9:30 PM ET/PT, immediately following the Season 6 “Nurse Jackie” premiere.

Docu-series “Years of Living Dangerously,” airs at 10 PM on the same night. The series follows a host of major celebs as they travel the globe, looking into the issue of climate change. Among the celebs being billed as correspondents for the piece are Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Jessica Alba, Harrison Ford, Michael C. Hall, Olivia Munn and “The Vampire Diaries’” Ian Somerhalder.

On Thursday, Showtime President of Entertainment David Nevins, also revealed at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour 2014 in Pasadena, that the Josh Hartnett and Eva Green fronted “Penny Dreadful,” a “psychological thriller,” per Showtime, premieres on Sunday, May 11 at 10 PM.

At the TCA event, Nevins debuted footage from “Happyish,” starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Rhys Ifans. The show hinted that it will follow Philip’s character, an advertising executive who is disenchanted with his industry. A cameo clip showed Louis CK pitching sneakers with his face on them. No premiere date for the show, however, was announced.
