Simon Cowell Calls The Cops After Leona Lewis Track Leaked

Simon Cowell reportedly called the cops after Leona Lewis’ new single made its way – without permission – onto the Internet, Britain’s The Sun reported.

According to the newspaper, the “American Idol” judge himself called in the authorities after discovering computers at his record company Syco were being hacked by those trying to obtain music illegally.

Syco has had artists’ tracks hacked before, but the newest leak is “Bleeding Love” singer Leona Lewis’ return single, “Don’t Let Me Down,” featuring Justin Timberlake.

According to the BBC, the anti-piracy wing of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, is working with Syco to “minimize the damage” from the track hitting the Web as well as find out how it got out.

The group are said to be monitoring the situation and attempting to remove “illegal copies of this track” from the Internet.

The Telegraph newspaper reported, however, that several of Leona’s tracks, not just the Justin collaboration, were taken through hacking.

“We will certainly look to bring charges against those who are responsible,” a spokesperson for Syco told the paper. “We cannot give any more details at this stage for operational reasons.”
