Just days after suffering a miscarriage, singer Lily Allen was reportedly taken to the hospital in an ambulance on Friday for septicaemia (a blood poisoning condition), according to the UK’s Daily Mail.
“[Lily] is responding well to treatment and her condition continues to improve,” a rep for the singer told the paper. “Lily thanks everyone for their messages of support and again asks that she and partner Sam Cooper be left alone whilst she recovers.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Lily’s publicist, Murray Chalmers, told the Associated Press on Monday that the songstress had suffered a miscarriage (six months into her pregnancy), saying, “It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby.”
Murray added that the couple is asking for privacy during this “deeply distressing time.”
This is the second miscarriage for the 25-year-old “Smile” singer – she previously miscarried in 2008 during her relationship with Chemical Brothers musician Ed Simon.
Lily took to her Twitter page on Friday to express her gratitude for the outpouring of support Tweeting, “I’m still very sick but the messages are helping me to be stronger. Thank you x x.”
“Thank you for all your kind messages,” she added.
