Sir Elton John Teaming Up With ‘Glee’ Star Matthew Morrison For Upcoming Album

Sir Elton John – first a “little monster” – now a “Gleek.”

The 63-year-old music legend, who admittedly “loves Glee,” will be collaborating with Matthew Morrison (who plays glee club director Will Schuester on the hit FOX show) for Matthew’s upcoming solo debut album.

“I am supposed to be doing something with Matthew Morrison for his album,” Sir Elton told Entertainment Weekly on Friday. “We had a little meeting together, so hopefully that’s going to happen when I get to L.A.”

As for the chances of an Elton John-themed “Glee” episode, the singer-songwriter said, “Of course I’d be into that.

“It’s always great when someone covers your songs, no matter how good or bad the version is,” he told the mag.

Sir Elton revealed that another possible pop collaboration may also be in the works – a duet with Lady Gaga (whom he “loves,” and has deemed “the bastard daughter of Elton John”).

“There’s a chance I might do one track with her [on her upcoming album], but she’s so busy and I’m so busy, we can never get together!” he told the mag.

The beloved Brit has heard Gaga’s title song from her upcoming album, “Born This Way,” and says it is nothing short of “amazing.”

“[‘Born This Way’] will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive,’” he raved. “This is the new ‘I Will Survive.’ That was the gay anthem. This is the new gay anthem.

“Actually, it’s not a gay anthem— it can apply to anybody,” he added.

Elton and Lady Gaga performed together as the opening act of the 2010 Grammy Awards, where the two sat at opposing pianos and sang a mash-up of Gaga’s “Speechless” and Elton’s “Your Song.”
