‘Skating With The Stars’ Heading To ABC; ‘V’ Sets Premiere Date

“Dancing with the Stars” is about to lose its hold on the sequins and spandex market – “Skating with the Stars” is coming to town.

From ABC and the BBC’s Worldwide Productions, “Skating with the Stars” will pair celebrities with world-class ice skaters as they hit the ice to compete against each other.

Like “Dancing,” “Skating with the Stars” will find stars competing live and in front of a panel of judges who will rate their performances.

Just in time for winter, the six-episode show will premiere on Monday, November 22 on ABC. The cast of the new reality show will be unveiled on November 2.

“Skating with the Stars” isn’t the first ice skating celeb competition to hit the U.S.

A similar program, “Skating with Celebrities” appeared on FOX in 2006. Among the stars who competed on that program included “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” patriarch Bruce Jenner, former “Full House” funnyman Dave Coulier and actress Kristy Swanson, who famously became involved with her then-married dancing partner, Lloyd Eisler.

Additionally, ABC announced Friday that alien drama “V” would return on January 4, 2011, at 9 PM on Tuesdays.
