Skyfall’s Naomie Harris: ‘I Went To Barber School For Three Weeks’ To Learn How To Shave Daniel Craig

Many action movies require some form of physical training (usually martial arts, weapons, or grappling instruction) for the film’s stars ahead of shooting.

For the latest film in the James Bond franchise, actress Naomie Harris underwent additional training – at barber school — in order to learn how to safely execute a straight-edged razor shave on “Skyfall” star, Daniel Craig.

“I actually had to have lessons to be able to shave him. I went to barber school for three weeks — I’m serious!” Naomie (who shaves the international man of mystery during a sexy scene in the film) told Kit Hoover and Billy Bush with a laugh on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live. “Everything in Bond is done with so much detail. For two months before we even started shooting, I was training.”

Naomie, who previously starred in “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” had to pass a few tests before she was allowed near Daniel’s neck with the sharp blade.

“I had a barber who taught me how to shave on balloons, then I graduated to members of the crew, and then they finally let me loose on Bond,” she said. “It’s really difficult actually!”

Adding, “But I never burst any balloons, I never cut anyone on set. So, I’m actually very good.”

As for filming the steamy shaving scene with Daniel, Naomie said it was a great experience.

“I was very, very lucky that day,” she laughed.

“Skyfall,” which also stars Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes and Judi Dench, is in theaters now.
