‘SNL’ 40: Kanye West Steals Matt Lauer’s Mic

Kanye West was at it again at the “Saturday Night Live” 40th Anniversary red carpet special on NBC!

As Matt Lauer gave his closing remarks and tossed to the live broadcast of the celebration, a smiling-from-ear-to-ear Kanye jumped in to snatch the microphone right out of the host’s hand.

“Thank you very much for joining us. The ‘Saturday Night Live’ 40th Anniversary Special begins,” Matt said before being cut off by the rapper.

Co-host Savannah Guthrie yelped, “Kanye!” as Al Roker and Carson Daly looked on.

Matt put his arm around the rapper, asking, “What’s happening, man?”

Savannah reeled things back in to get on with the show, asking, “When does it start?”

As he pushed Kanye away, Matt responded, “Right now.”

Kanye nearly interrupted Beck’s acceptance speech at the Grammys last Sunday when he briefly took the stage and he famously crashed Taylor Swift’s MTV Video Music Awards moment in 2009.
