‘SNL’: Chris Hemsworth Joins ‘Empire’ As New Character For ‘White America’

Chris Hemsworth got in on the “Empire” action this weekend!

The “Avengers” star, who was making his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut, spoofed Fox’s ratings juggernaut in a pre-taped sketch playing Chip, the Lyon family’s new Empire office manager (a deliberately Caucasian addition to the cast).

“‘Empire’ has already taken black America by storm, but what about white America? We’ve got you covered,” says a voiceover in the hilarious clip, as Chris enters the Empire boardroom. “This week we introduce a new character, Chip.”

“He’s gonna be our new office manager,” says Kenan Thompson as Lucious Lyon at a boardroom meeting, as Chris’ Chip – rocking khakis and a tucked-in plaid shirt – looks on, before asking if anyone “actually does any work around here?”

“Take a dip, Chip,” Sasheer Zamata’s Cookie responds, as she throws a can of soda at Chris’ head.

“Drama, we’ve got it. Groundbreaking music, you bet. And if that’s not enough, now, we’ve got a white dude in khakis,” adds the voiceover.

Perhaps the most spot-on “Empire” impression came from Leslie Jones, who played Cookie’s assistant, Porsha.

“Oh, just one question – you turned in an expense report, but there were no receipts with it?” Chip asks Leslie’s Porsha — who absolutely nails the character’s signature RBF, btw.

“Yeah, I got the receipts right here,” she answers while reaching into her purse, only to pull out her middle finger and flip him off.
