Source: Charlie Sheen Did Not Check Into Rehab On Friday

Charlie Sheen did not end up checking into rehab on Friday night, a source told Access Hollywood.

According to the source, the “Two and a Half Men” star went to Malibu on Friday, where he was expected to check into a facility in the area. However, the source said, ultimately, Sheen did not end up checking into any rehab facility, including the famed Promises treatment center, where he has spent time before.

Instead, the source said Sheen went home last night.

The news comes less than 24 hours after Sheen’s rep released a statement on behalf of the actor, revealing he had “voluntarily” chosen to enter rehab.

“Charlie Sheen has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center today,” the actor’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, told Access Hollywood on Friday afternoon.

Rosenfield was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access on Saturday morning.

Just as Sheen’s rep announced he was entering rehab on Friday, CBS announced that “Two and a Half Men,” the actor’s hit comedy, was going on hiatus.

“Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing ‘Two and a Half Men’ on production hiatus,” CBS said in a statement. “We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision.”

Prior to the reports of the star heading to rehab, Sheen spent the day in hospital at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, following a late-night bash at his home that extended into the early hours of Thursday morning.
