Spencer Pratt Speaks Out On Heidi Montag: ‘I’m Her Husband – Not Her Owner’

Spencer Pratt’s not known for keeping his mouth shut, but “The Hills” star has been notably quiet since his wife, Heidi Montag, appeared on the cover of People magazine to reveal her latest plastic surgeries – until now.

“Anytime I hinted that it might be a little much or if I just asked if she was sure, I even felt like I was crossing lines,” Spencer told People of his misgivings on Heidi’s multiple surgeries. “I’m not in charge of what she does with any part of her body. I’m her husband – not her owner.”

But the reality star made it clear that he didn’t think his wife needed to undergo cosmetic surgery to change her appearance, procedures which included a mini brow lift, Botox in the forehead, nose job revision, fat injections in cheeks and lips, chin reduction, neck liposuction, ears pinned back, breast augmentation revision, liposuction on her waist and thighs and a buttocks augmentation.

“I may not be OK with things, but it’s not my call,” he said. “Everyone sees themselves differently when they look in the mirror… Nobody truly understands how she feels except her.”

The hardest part wasn’t the surgeries, he added – but what came after.

“Right after … it was the worst experience of my life,” Spencer told the mag. “Nobody that loves a loved one should see that.”

Heidi previously told Access Hollywood that she “almost died” after her procedures, later clarifying in a joint statement with her plastic surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan, that her medical difficulties came five days after her November surgeries while in an aftercare center and she was “not harmed in any way.”

Dr. Ryan refuted Heidi’s initial claims of her near-death experience, telling Access’ Shaun Robinson, “That didn’t happen as far as I know.”
