Stacey Dash & Meredith Vieira Argue Over Gender Inequality

Stacey Dash is at it again.

The actress-turned-Fox News contributor brought her views on gender discrimination and the pay gap to “The Meredith Vieira Show” on Wednesday.

“It’s the same thing with race. It’s an excuse. Stop making excuses. If there are opportunities, seize them. And be prepared for them,” Stacey told Meredith, when asked why she spoke out against Patricia Arquette’s call to end discrimination against women at the 2015 Academy Awards. “And be the best, if that’s what it takes. If you have to be extraordinary, be extraordinary.”

Meredith pointed out that women are “fighting an uphill battle,” especially considering women make only 77 cents to every dollar men make (for the same positions, experience, etc.).

Meredith said that progress is slow-going, and that her 22-year-old daughter won’t experience equal pay until she’s 65 years old.

“I don’t know if that’s true,” Stacey said.

“That’s true, that’s documented,” Meredith stated.

Stacey attempted to downplay the facts, saying, “I guess I won’t put my fate into anything other than my own action and taking my destiny in my hands. I will not play victim to anything.”

“I’m not saying I’m a victim. I’m pissed off. I don’t want to be a victim,” Meredith shot back.

“If you want to be pissed off about it, then be pissed off about it and work harder for it. But I don’t think us, you know, complaining about it, because there was a law passed that we get paid equal pay,” Stacey argued.

“Except we don’t,” reiterated Meredith. “We don’t! We don’t! We don’t.”
