Star Jones Dishes On New Book ‘Satan’s Sisters,’ ‘The View’ & ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

Former “The View” co-host and current “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant Star Jones says that although her new book, “Satan’s Sisters: A Novel Work of Fiction,” might be set in the world of daytime TV, it isn’t necessarily about her former daytime co-hosts.

“There’s no question… ‘Satan’s Sisters’ is based, in part, on someone I’ve either worked with, worked for, interviewed, was interviewed by or prosecuted, no question,” Star told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesday’s Access Hollywood Live.

“I believe you should write what you know,” she said, explaining that she penned the novel after undergoing open-heart surgery. “I thought, ‘Let me have some fun with my soap opera life, and bring it all to bare.’”

When asked about her time on “The View,” which she departed in 2006, Star said she enjoyed most of her time on the ABC chat fest.

“I loved that show for eight years, I worked there for nine, and there it is,” she said. “They’re having a good time, they don’t think about me and, quite frankly, I haven’t thought about them until I was doing ‘Satan’s Sisters.’”

Despite the book’s storyline – quite similar to Star’s own life – the TV personality said the details of her former daytime sisters were not used.

“I would never ever tell the real secrets of my former co-hosts. I think that is tacky,” she continued. “I’ve never done it before. Some other people have decided to disclose what they want to, but I’d never breach the relationship we had for nine years, ever.”

Star revealed that she has yet to be asked to return to “The View” to chat about her new book, saying, “I haven’t been invited, they have to issue an invitation… I’m good with everybody. I don’t have a problem with any of those girls. They were my family for nine years.”

As for her current TV gig, on Donald Trump’s “The Celebrity Apprentice,” Star said she’s not the only contestant playing to win.

“Everybody is conniving, everybody is manipulative, everybody is strategic,” she told Billy and Kit.

Star was very outspoken when asked about former competitor Lisa Rinna.

“I just think people forgot it was a game, I came to play the game. I was only supposed to be there to be a competitor for the American Heart Association. And I thought everyone came to play the game,” she said. “But then we finished people and got all crazy. I said, ‘Well baby, it’s a game and TV show, quit tripping! Go home! Be with your husband. Think about him. Quit worrying about me ‘cause I sure don’t think about you. Next!”

As for another fellow contestant “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes, Star barely had any words for the reality star.

“Child please, whatever,” Star said. “I’m not going come on TV and talk about someone else… Bless her.”

“Celebrity Apprentice” airs Sundays at 9 PM on NBC.
