Star Trek Into Darkness Release Date Moved Up

There’s one less day to wait to head “Into Darkness.”

Paramount revealed it has pushed up the opening of “Star Trek Into Darkness” to Thursday, May 16, instead of Friday, May 17.

The studio behind the second installment of the rebooted franchise made the date change because of the excellent response to the sneak peek screenings of the film, which occur on May 15 at IMAX theaters in various cities across the country.

Zachary Quinto, who returns for a second round as Spock, said “Into Darkness” is “epic and magnificent.”

“It’s visual, it’s so stunning,” he told Access. “The visual effects of this movie — for me — are really unparalleled. … But it’s always anchored. It’s always anchored in connection and emotion and relationships and character and it’s a special blend and I think [J.J.] does it better than just about anybody.”
