Star Wars Episode VII: J.J. Abrams Confirms Jesse Plemons Talks, Plans To Shoot In May

J.J. Abrams is moving ahead with the next installment in “Star Wars” and has revealed one actor who is being considered for a role.

The director confirmed reports that “Breaking Bad” and “Friday Night Lights” alum Jesse Plemons is in the running for a role.

“He is one of the actors that we’ve talked to, yeah,” Abrams told The Wrap on Sunday at the Television Critics Association press tour. “But, you know. It’s not often that I read about actors that I’m going to be meeting … that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say, ‘Oh, I read that I’m going to see you.’ … It’s usually agents talking to people about what’s happening. It’s a lot of noise.”

Another tidbit that Abrams revealed concerns the script, which he says is finally finished.

“We’re working really hard and we’ve got our script and we’re in deep prep,” he continued.

He also spoke to USA Today, where he said they plan to start shooting in May.

“That’s the current plan,” he explained. “We can’t talk about story [and casting] yet… soon, and I look forward to that so that we can get past it and we can get on with it.”

Adding, [It’s] “thrilling. But it’s a lot.”
