Stars Share New Year’s Wishes On Twitter; ‘Glee’ Cast Gives Thanks For ‘09 Good Fortune

The stars are celebrating New Year’s Eve around the world and sending out their well wishes via Twitter.

Paula Abdul and Martha Stewart were some of the first celebrities to share their New Year’s Eve moments as they both appeared to be celebrating (separately) from Thailand.

“Lighting a lantern and letting it go with a wish on New Years at Six Senses Resort in Thailand,” Paula Tweeted.

Martha also shared her well wishes.

“a happy new year to all my friends in thailand it is almost midnight and we are all thinking about the possibilities for 2010.”

Other stars posted messages throughout the last day of 2009, including Lindsay Lohan, who appeared to Tweet from the skies.

“Sending love, peace, and prosperity to all ;),” she wrote, posting a photo of herself on a plane.

Sean “Diddy Combs revealed he was helping to make New Year’s Eve safe for many by getting his liquor brand to sponsor rides home.

“CIROC To Pay 4 Thousands Of Cabs On New Year’s Eve.. Lets Drink Responsibly and bring in the New Year Right,” he wrote, adding “2010 let’s go!!!!!!”

Several cast members from the Golden Globe nominated FOX series “Glee” took to Twitter to give thanks for all the good fortune they’ve had in 2009, including Lea Michele, who plays high school singing standout Rachel.

“I can’t say enough how wonderful this year was,” the Best Actress nominee wrote. “I hope 2010 will be filled with just as much exciting and joyful things. Happy New Year!!!”

And Kevin McHale, who plays Artie on the show, also gave thanks.

“Last day of 2009- most amazing year of my life, been across the world and part of a show with my best friends! Thank u 2 everyone involved!!” he Tweeted.

Cory Monteith, who plays Finn, couldn’t help but remark on his fabulous year too.

“happy new year! 09 was nuts. looking forward to the next decade in a big way!” he wrote.

Kelly Osbourne, who blossomed in 2009, while appearing on “Dancing With the Stars,” was also appreciative of the love shown to her throughout the year.

“Happy new years!” she Tweeted. “I just wanted to say thank u 4 all the support u guys gave me in 2009 I dont think I could have got through it without u!”

Teen singing sensation Justin Bieber made a list on Twitter of all the things he was grateful for in 2009.

“2009 memory #20: knowing all this happened for a small town kid because of a youtube page and your support :)” he wrote.

Paris Hilton got ready for the big night by hitting the slopes in Aspen.

“I Love New Years! So excited!” she added.

Shonda Rhimes: “Happy New Year from Mexico!”

Adam Lambert: “Happy New Years Eve everyone!!! End of the Decade!!! Tonights gonna be wild!”

Michael Chiklis: “Happy new year everyone! I wish you health, happiness and peace for this and all the coming new years.”
