Stephen Amell’s Campaign To Help Out ‘Warrior Princess Kiara’ Family

“Arrow” star Stephen Amell is continuing to use his celebrity to benefit worthwhile causes and his latest project involves helping out the family of a young girl.

Late this week, the actor posted details about a child named Kiara, and her parents, who need help as they work to take care of their brood and pay for the cost of their daughter’s medical expenses as she undergoes treatment for a brain tumor.

“Kiara was introduced to me through my good buddy Drew’s family, and Kiara was diagnosed with a brain tumor in early November,” Amell told Access Hollywood ahead of his appearance on the “Arrow” panel at PaleyFest in Los Angeles on Saturday. “I’m all for helping out families when I know the family and when I know where it’s gonna go.”

Amell posted a campaign video on his Facebook page over the weekend about the family and “Warrior Princess” Kiara, and even offered a raffle as an additional incentive to encourage people to support the fundraiser.

On Saturday, he said his FB community has already begun to help out the family.

“Both her parents had to uproot and move for treatment and they have two other kids and I just – I know that the money that we raise will help them. We’ve already raised like $30,000, so hopefully we’ll complete their goal,” he said.

At press time on Sunday, the total was over $41,000.

Amell regularly uses his Facebook page to support causes. Earlier this year, he launched his “Sinceriously” campaign, which benefitted Stand for the Silent and Paws and Stripes. Before that, he also raised over $1 million for F*** Cancer.
