Susan Boyle Talks Fame & Staying Grounded: ‘I Take Baby Steps’

Susan Boyle may have the No. 1 album in the country for the second week in a row with “I Dreamed A Dream,” but not so long ago, the “Britain’s Got Talent” breakout star was miles away from superstardom.

“I finally feel like the dream is a reality,” she told People.

But, SuBo said, she hasn’t changed.

“I still have my former life. I still live in the same house,” the Scottish singer told the mag. “My life hasn’t changed. I travel more. I see places I never thought I would see. There is nothing I miss because I have everything I had before it’s just a little more interesting now.”

And the singer said she’s taking things slow as she steps out into the world of celebrity.

“I always say that I take baby steps anyway so that I can handle each step as it comes along,” she said.

However, Susan’s enjoying her newfound celebrity — even meeting another reality star, “Dancing With the Stars” champ Donny Osmond, who she previously admitted on her own Web site, she was a huge fan of.

“He was very nice,” Susan said. “We talked about how important it was to stay grounded. He bought me some purple roses and they were very beautiful.”

And with her new income, Susan revealed she’s purchased a few things of her own.

“I have bought a few things for my house a red couch and some cushions,” she added. “It’s important to keep your house looking nice and it is great to be able to buy these things.”

And more importantly, Susan said her beloved cat, Pebbles, is staying grounded, too.

“Pebbles is blissfully unaware of everything that is going on,” Susan said. “She lives with a very lovely lady while I am away working and she is thriving.”
