Susan Lucci ‘Thrilled’ To Be On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Soap opera leading lady Susan Lucci is ready to go from daytime to primetime.

“I am thrilled to be on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ this season,” the “All My Children” star said in a statement to Access Hollywood after the news of her casting was announced on Monday. “I have always been a big fan of the show. This is going to be an amazing life experience for me.”

Lucci’s already begun preparing for the show, partnering with professional Tony Dovolani, who’s entering his sixth season of “Dancing.”

“I’ve already begun to work with my dance partner, Tony and could not be more thrilled to be working with him. This is a very exciting time and I look forward to the journey,” she said.

Lucci, 61, will have to keep up with young stars such as 17-year-old “Hannah Montana” actor Cody Linley, though she won’t be the oldest dancer on the new season – that honor goes to Cloris Leachman, 82.
