Tareq Salahi is still reeling from his split from estranged wife Michaele.
The former “Real Househusband” appeared on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live, where he spoke candidly about his split.
“Our marriage has been very strong,” he told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover. “As far as I knew, I didn’t know she was leading this double life. We were very much in love with each other.”
According to Tareq, he was “blindsided” by Michaele running off on tour with Journey rocker Neal Schon.
“We found some evidence on e-mails and communications for the last two years, where they’ve been having an affair,” Tareq claimed.
The reality star told Billy and Kit that he considered Neal to be a friend.
“I’ve been betrayed by my wife and my friends,” he said. “We found out that she’s just been betraying the family, she’s been cheating and broke my heart and I just got crushed on this.”
But would Tareq take back Michaele back?
“I love her, there’s no question,” Tareq, who filed for divorce last week, said. “Can it be mended? I don’t think so. I think that chapter in our life is over. It wasn’t just a fling, it was a total double life, a lie that’s been going on for a long time.”
The alleged White House party crasher told Billy and Kit he imagined a long life with the former Bravo star.
“This is just who she is and I didn’t see it,” he continued. “I thought I was going to grow old with her and we were going to die together.”
Michaele was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access on Friday.
