Taye Digs: ‘It Was Tough’ To Wrap Up Private Practice

“Private Practice” will wrap up for good on January 22, 2013 on ABC, but the actors in the cast already said their farewells when they finished shooting the show earlier this month.

“It was tough,” Taye Diggs told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday about saying goodbye. “We have a really great cast of actors, we’re really close. But we had a good run.”

The show, from creator Shonda Rhimes, will have six seasons behind it when they close their doors on the network, but although he’s sad to bid adieu to the project, Taye said there are a few things he can happily leave behind.

“I won’t miss those hospital words though or the dying babies, I won’t miss the dying babies,” he said, referring to the many deaths on the medical drama that brought tears to viewers’ eyes.

Looking ahead, Taye said he would actually be interested in some more light-hearted material.

“I’m looking to do some comedy. I want to be funny,” he said.
