Taylor Lautner’s life has dramatically changed since landing the role of Jacob Black in the “Twilight Saga,” some changes the actor welcomes – and others, he says he’ll never get used to.
“There are twelve cars that camp outside my house,” the 17-year-old told Teen Vogue’s October issue “You can’t ever really get used to it, because it’s not normal to have people snapping pictures of everything you do. You just have to try not to let it affect you.”
The young star is also still adjusting to having his alleged love life – and the lives of his co-stars – playing out in the headlines.
When the mag asked about his reported romance with Disney star Selena Gomez he would only say, “She’s a great girl.”
And when asked to shed light on rumors that co-stars, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, are an item, Taylor remained just as allusive.
“It’s crazy. But the fans help,” he said. “They’re a big part of the motivation.”
Taylor revealed that he almost never went into acting and it was his karate coach (once the blue Power Ranger) who encouraged him to take a bite out of Hollywood.
“At first, I wasn’t interested, but he said I could stay at his house for a few weeks, meet with some agents, go on auditions,” Taylor recalled, “I liked it. Taking on roles that were the opposite of what I could be in real life? That’s still my favorite thing.”
And despite his millions of diehard fans (aka the Twi-hard) around the world, Taylor has managed to remain humble about his job.
“I think the fans would love anybody who played Jacob, he told the mag. “I’m just lucky to be the one who got the chance.”
