The Bible Star Diogo Morgado Talks Benefits Of Playing Jesus: ‘I Was The Only One Who Didn’t Get Sick’

Diogo Morgado plays Jesus Christ in “The Bible” and the actor stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Friday to chat about the coming series finale and discuss the perks of playing the Son of God.

“I was the only one in the cast [who spent] four months in Morocco who didn’t get sick – that’s something,” Diogo told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, when asked if anything surreal or seemingly supernatural happened while filming The History Channel miniseries.

“Everybody was just like, [sick from] water, bad stomach and sun-burning,” he added.

The 33-year-old actor, who hails from Portugal, admitted he’s not quite sure how he’ll find a grander role after starring in the Marc Burnett and Roma Downey-produced 10-hour miniseries.

“The next audience will be tough!” he said with a laugh, adding that God is “in charge.”

“The Bible” series finale airs Easter Sunday at 8 PM on The History Channel.
