‘The Biggest Loser’s’ Sam Poueu In Critical Condition After Fall

“The Biggest Loser” Season 9 contestant Sam Poueu is reportedly in critical condition after falling several stories from a building over the weekend.

According to TMZ, the 26-year-old fell on September 3 and suffered a pelvic injury, a punctured lung, torn ligaments and a broken leg.

Poueu is currently in a San Francisco area hospital. The details surrounding his fall are not known.

On Sunday, his “The Biggest Loser” partner and cousin, Koli Palu, gave an update on his condition on Season 11 contestant Courtney Crozier’s Facebook page.

“Sam Poueu has made serious improvement in the last few hours. He has become very responsive to [fiancee and fellow contestant] Stephanie Anderson and his Mother, squeezing their hands and kicking his feet,” Palu wrote on Courtney’s page. “The head trauma has pretty much stabilized. He still has a long way to go but thank you so much for your love and prayers.”

Fellow Season 9 contestant Ashley Johnson also took to her Facebook page, giving fans an update on Poueu.

“Sam Poueu is making great improvements everyday! God is answering our prayers and Sam is fighting! Please keep the prayers coming,” she wrote on Wednesday. “He is still in critical condition, but is fighting like hell and is impressing the Doctors like he impressed all of us on the Biggest Loser!”

A rep from “The Biggest Loser” told Access Hollywood, “Sam Poueu is a beloved member of our ‘Biggest Loser’ family and we are keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.”

Poueu lost 142 pounds during his time on the hit NBC series. Poueu and Anderson got engaged in October 2010.
