‘The Blacklist’s’ Megan Boone: ‘Women Love To Watch Liz Keen Fight & Kick Butt’

On NBC’s “The Blacklist,” Megan Boone spent Season 1 fighting fictional criminal masterminds as rookie FBI profiler Elizabeth Keen. And, the actress told AccessHollywood.com she enjoys the heavy physical aspect to her work on the network drama.

“I love doing stunts,” Megan said when she stopped by Access last week. “It’s like a fast-paced dance sequence. You choreograph this fight with someone and you are listening in a sense, you’re feeling what they’re doing. They’re your dance partner and you’re responding. But it’s not like, 1-2-3.”

After miming punches and upper cuts, Megan explained that doing those intensely physical moves while starring in her high-action series left her feeling strong.

“When you finish you feel exactly like you think you would feel — a sense of euphoria — because you just got out all this aggression and you were on your toes and you were in the moment,” she said.

And the actress has heard from fans who were inspired to see a youthful female character in action in Season 1.

“I think that young women love to watch Liz Keen fight and kick butt, and that’s touching for me because there should be more strong female characters,” Megan said. “Does Liz know everything? No. She’s a flawed human being, but she’s always fighting. She’s aspiring for something and I think that aspirational feeling with a lead female character is something that young women need to see, especially now.”

“The Blacklist” Season 2 premieres September 22 at 10/9c on NBC.
