The-Dream Has Last Laugh After Jay-Z’s Grammy ‘Swap Meet Hat’ Dig

Jay-Z might have had the Grammy Awards’ crowd cracking up after his onstage dig at The-Dream’s hat, but The Dream appears to be having the last laugh.

When the rappers and Frank Ocean took the stage to accept the award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “No Church in the Wild,” Jay-Z used his moment at the podium to take a swipe at The-Dream’s not-so-formal attire.

“I want to thank the swap meet for his hat,” the rapper said, poking fun at Dream’s “Parental Advisory” beanie and “Boyz N the Hood” cap.

Backstage, The-Dream – whose real name is Terius Nash – told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson that his collaborator was just being his usual humorous self.

“He’s actually pretty funny and comedic all the time. We kind of take digs all the time, that doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m probably more surprised that people are actually talking about it,” the rapper told Shaun.

As for a comeback, The-Dream doesn’t need one – thanks to Beyonce.

“Beyonce asked me where I got both hats from because she wanted them. So, that’s the get back. So it’s over with now. It’s like, I won,” he explained.

And fans might be seeing more headgear from the rapper in the future.

“I should do this more often,” he said of his headline-making hats. “I got way more crazy hats that these. This is nothing.”
