‘The Fighter’s’ Amy Adams Helps Keep The Actress’ Feet On The Ground

“The Fighter’s” Amy Adams had a glamorous day on Monday, hobnobbing with her fellow Oscar nominees in Beverly Hills.

“It’s extraordinary and a real honor to be included in that bunch of people,” Amy told Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts following the annual Oscar nominees luncheon and class portrait session.

Amy is nominated for Best Supporting actress for her role in “The Fighter,” and at the luncheon she rubbed shoulders with fellow nominees including “Biutiful’s” Javier Bardem, Helena Bonham Carter from “The King’s Speech,” “Black Swan’s” Natalie Portman and “The Town’s” Jeremy Renner.

The redheaded actress said while Monday’s event was a dream come true, she has a special person in her life who keeps her feet on the ground – daughter Aviana.

Amy gave birth to Aviana, her first child with fiancée, Darren Le Gallo, in May 2010 and she told Tony that her little one has changed her life completely.

“It put things in perspective,” Amy replied when Tony asked how her daughter has changed her life. “It forces me to sort of come down really quickly from these unimaginable highs and just come back to this very beautiful, serene reality.”

Last time Amy was nominated for an Oscar – in 2009 for her role in “Julia & Julia” – she wasn’t yet pregnant.

Now, with her baby in her life, she said she’s a calmer person.

“It’s easy to get caught up in these little dramas or disappointments, but then when you come home, none of it matters, it all goes away,” she said.
