“When Flash shows up, he’s — we look at ‘Heat’ a lot with [Robert] De Niro and he kind of just is this guy who pulls jobs very carefully and suddenly, there’s something else in the city and he has to change his game up,” Geoff told TV reporters on Monday, about Capt. Cold. “He has to kind of figure out how to deal with this new threat in Central City… to his way of life, so it’s just all about him evolving and surviving in this new – the new world order. And with that… guns aren’t gonna do it, so he’s gotta have something a little stronger.”

“It’s Leonard Snart’s origins,” EP Andrew Kreisberg added. “He’s not the villain that we see in the comics yet. We’re going to get there.”

Later on this season, Wentworth’s former “Prison Break” co-star, Dominic Purcell, will join the Rogues playing Mick Rory (aka Heat Wave), a pyromaniac “who finds an outlet for his obsession with fire,” according to The CW, when he teams up with Leonard/Capt. Cold.

Geoff said Wentworth was influential in bringing Dominic on to the show.

“That was actually from Wentworth… I was on set talking to him and I said, ‘Hey, if we were going to bring you back and have you team up with somebody, is there someone you’d like to work with?’ And we talked about the character and he said, ‘Dominic.’ Like, without missing a beat. And he said, ‘I think he’d do it. We’d have fun.’ So he was really excited about getting together again, so it came from him,” Geoff said.

“They haven’t shot yet,” fellow “The Flash” EP Greg Berlanti said about Wentworth and Dominic re-teaming up on screen. “Any day now. We’re just in prep on that episode, but Dominic – his first line appears in a previous episode the very first time you hear him.”

“The Flash,” starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
