The Glee Project Canceled By Oxygen

“The Glee Project” has performed its final show tune.

The Oxygen reality series, which has helped place several rising stars on Fox’s “Glee,” including Blake Jenner, Samuel Larsen, Damian McGinty Jr. and Alex Newell, will not return for a third season.

“’The Glee Project’ will not be returning to Oxygen, but we are extremely proud of this series which launched the careers of several talented individuals. The show had so much heart and we thank Ryan Murphy and all of the creative talent who helped make the series a critical darling,” an Oxygen spokesperson told Access Hollywood on Tuesday.

The Wrap reported on Tuesday that “network insiders” said the show’s late renewal is what ultimately lead to the cancellation as it didn’t allow “Glee Project” producers enough time to make their program.

Additionally, The Wrap reported that the decision was made weeks ago and therefore the death of Cory Monteith was not a factor.
