‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’ Cast On Epic Final Film

Peter Jackson ends his time in Middle Earth after six films with “The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies” and with an epic sendoff!

The final battle scene of “Five Armies” clocks in at a whopping 45 minutes involving elves, dwarves, humans, orcs – not to mention that (Spoiler alert!) dragon that was unleashed from Lonely Mountain and still needs to be dealt with!

Access Hollywood guest correspondent Tim Vincent chatted with the cast in London about the final film. Here’s what they had to say about “The Battle of The Five Armies”:

Luke Evans (Bard) on the epic final battle: “It’s amazing… It’s a very impressive finale, it’s such a huge story! If you didn’t see the last one, tough! We’ve got something to tell you, this is the story and we’ve got two hours and six minutes to do it!”

Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel) on movie’s final scenes: “It was spectacular. It was a spectacle. It was beautiful, emotional, it was very intense!”

Evangeline on getting injured by an orc: “I almost got KO’d by an Orc. I was doing a sequence where I was killing about eight orcs and right in the middle of that sequence, the choreography is such that I duck and I forgot to duck. I was seeing stars and I thought for sure it was going to be lights out for me.”

Lee Pace (Thranduil) on the final fight: “The whole battle surprised me, I knew it was going to be big… but then you see it in the movie and it just exceeds all your expectations! It’s so epic in scope!”

Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) on Peter Jackson’s amazing feat in the movie: “The [final] battle was mind blowing… I think he created something on that battlefield that no one has ever seen before. I was mesmerized and blown away by it!”

Orlando Bloom (Legolas) on some of his surprising and touching moments with “Lord of the Rings” and “Hobbit” fans: “I get a lot of letters and people reaching out to me who are kind of on death’s door, which is kind of trippy. I think part of it is kind of the elves are angelic and immortal and so people reach out. They buy into the world that Tolkien created so beautifully and Peter has managed to bring to the screen and we get lucky enough to play the characters and they really go there. [The fans are] kind of beautiful. I’ve had some amazing encounters with people.”
