The Steven Slater / JetBlue Saga Continues, Friday’s Latest Updates!

The fed-up JetBlue flight attendant, Steven Slater, who skyrocketed to fame after exiting a plane via the emergency chute – (but not before cursing at passengers and grabbing a beer for the ride) – says he still wants his job!

“JetBlue is a wonderful airline which he has loved working for, and wishes to continue working for,” Slater’s attorney, Howard Turman, told reporters at a news conference on Thursday outside his client’s home in Belle Harbor, Queens, New York, NBC New York reported.

According to multiple reports, Steven had a meltdown on Monday after allegedly getting hit in the head during an altercation with a female passenger whom he claims told him to “f*** off.”

In a strange new twist, sources reportedly told TMZ on Friday that investigators still have not identified the female passenger who allegedly set Steven off, and that the airline and Port Authority investigators have doubts as to whether the incident ever actually ever occurred.

“Crazier things have happened,” a source reportedly connected with the investigation told TMZ.

In related news, Steven, who was reportedly found in an embrace with his boyfriend, Ken Rochelle, by police following the incident, is still technically married to a woman, according to court documents posted by Radar Online on Friday.

Steven Slater married Cynthia Niethamer (a woman reported to be his high school sweetheart) in Las Vegas on May 5, 1991, according to the website. Though the court papers reportedly state that the two separated eight months later, a petition to nullify the marriage was filed in 2006 – 14 years after the split. The former couple is still married as the documents show the case to be “pending,” according to Radar.

The fired-up flight attendant’s outburst has struck a chord with the American public. Facebook pages were created in his honor, with Steven garnering over 200,000 fans since Monday, and rumors of a movie based on Slater’s meltdown began to swirl immediately.

On Friday afternoon, NBC New York posted video of Steven’s alleged escape from the plane.

When asked who should play the disgruntled JetBlue employee on film, Access Hollywood’s AH Nation overwhelmingly chose Gunther from “Friends” (James Michael Tyler), over Neal McDonough, Neil Patrick Harris, and Michael Kors.

Steven, 38, currently remains free on $2,500 bail after being charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and trespassing. The 20-plus-year flight attendant could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
